Church Data Protection Policy

As part of Church of Scotland policy, we recently completed our Data Protection Policy which relates to the information we hold about our members and who has access to such information. We are planning to put our policy on the church website for anyone to access.

The information we hold are names and addresses for our church role purposes and only the Minister and office bearers have access to the information.

However, a new Data Protection Act is due to come into force in 2018 and we will be kept updated by The Church of Scotland of any changes that might affect churches.

In the meantime, we have to do a Data Protection audit to look at what information we hold and how it is stored and accessed. Please be assured that your information is not used for any other purposes than for our church role and annual stats which we have to submit to The Church of Scotland.

If anyone has any concerns/queries then please get in touch with myself.

Mike Hepburn
Session Clerk and Data Protection Officer.
